Those who are concerned about their aging loved ones or are interested in learning about other families’ experiences at Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center are invited to attend an informational reception about daytime care options for older adults on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 270 Escuela Ave. in Mountain View. The meeting will detail the Center’s two levels of daytime care: adult day care (based on the social model) and adult day health care (based on the medical model). Participants will be offered light refreshments, a free gift and a tour of the facility.
“The event will be filled with stories of people whose loved ones have Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s Disease, a stroke or other ailment, and yet they still blossom under the loving care provided at Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center,” said Avenidas Marketing Director Kari Martell.
Participants ride on handicapped-equipped vans to the center each day where they choose from a variety of activities to participate in, including art classes, music, current events discussions, Red Hat Society meetings, poker games, pet therapy and more. They also enjoy a meal, reviewed daily by a dietician and prepared by the on-site chef, as well as participate in daily group exercises and specialized therapies, such as speech, occupational or physical, for those who need it.
