Police say seven people died in multiple bomb blasts in Kano, Nigeria, on January 20 and that the bombings were coordinated attacks on security targets.
Police media officer Olusola Amore said in a statement that a total of eight locations were attacked, including police headquarters, three police stations, the headquarters of
the secret services and the immigration head office.
Police have imposed a curfew in Kano, which has suffered from frequent attacks by the Islamist sect Boko Haram.
The same group claimed responsibility for a Christmas day bomb attack on a church outside the capital Ajuba which killed 37 people and wounded 57 more.
Boko Haram considers all who do not follow its strict ideology as infidels, whether they be Christian or Muslim.
