Argentinian President Cristina Fernadez has accused Britain of “militarizing the South Atlantic” and vowed to complain to the United Nations.

Her comments come as tensions rise ahead of the 30th anniversary of the Falklands war.

Fernadez criticized the upcoming deployment of a British destroyer in the area, as well as Prince William’s posting as a military search-and-rescue pilot in the islands, called Las Malvinas in Spanish.

The two nations fought a brief war over the British-ruled Falkland Islands in 1982.

London rejects Argentinian demands for sovereignty negotiations unless the roughly 3,000 islanders approve it.
